January 14, 2010- Our Win Against UCLA

Friday night was a night that no one on this team will ever forget.  We beat UCLA, the defending national champions.  I have to say we didnt give our absolute best performance, but we looked good.  The great thing about season is the progress you get to see in yourself.  It starts off ok, and by the end you will more confident than ever.  I only see our team progressing as the season goes on.  At the competition we had over 5100 people there! HOLY CRAP!  The energy and spirit i felt during the competition was so completely uplifting.  After my vault, i just got goosebumps because of the sheer energy i felt around me.  It was an amazing experience.
I have to say UCLA is by far my favorite team to compete against.  They are an amazing group of women.  They are all extremely sweet and classy.  I would love to compete against them all the time.  That whole program is a class act, thats for sure.
The day after the meet we did a day trip to Las Vegas to watch my club girls compete.  I miss them terribly and it was so much fun getting to watch them compete.  Randii, you look absolutely amazing.  I cannot believe how refined and beautiful you look competing.  I am so happy you signed with LSU.  Way to dream big and achieve your goals!  Marielos, i loved seeing you! You have grown into such a beautiful person inside and out.  When i see you, you look like a woman and not my little sis! Time has gone by way too  fast.  I love and miss you girl!
We got some online backlash after the UCLA meet, but most of the feedback was positive.  For those who think that SUU is a "nowhere" school, you are wrong.  Scott Bauman has single handely grown this program for 20 years now.  We are not all of a sudden popping up and winning.  We are a team that works our guts out and expects nothing but excellence.  We expect academic and athletic excellence.  We have been the National Academic Champions eleven times.  We have worked hard to get where we are, and we will continue to grow throughout time.  We are blessed to have our facilities, staff, coaches,  athletic trainers, doctors, and our gymnasts. We all work everyday to be successful, and it is finally starting to show. We take it one skill, one leap, one pass at a time, and we hit! That is our motto that we stick to.
I posted some websites,  videos, and pictures from the meet. love you all :)
